The suspect was initially arrested by members of the public and tied with a rope before the police officers re-arrested him.

Police Officers from Lolgorian Police Station and Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) detectives from Transmara have arrested a 46-year-old man over killing a 45-year-old female at Kilae, Narok County.

In a statement on Thursday, January 25, The National Police Service (NPS) said the suspect was initially arrested by members of the public and tied with a rope before the police officers re-arrested him.

“NPS Officers from Lolgorian Police Station and their DCI Transmara South colleagues re-arrested one Patrick Mujitwa, 46 a suspect in the killing of one female Sarah, 45 at Kilae Sub-Location, Moyoi Location in Narok County. He was initially arrested by members of the public who tied him with a rope,” read the statement in part.

The officers found the body of the woman lying in a pool of blood with multiple deep cuts on the head, deep cut on the right hand at the elbow, a cut on the abdomen, and a deep cut on the right leg.

The officers recovered a pair of gumboots, a slasher, and a crowbar all stained with blood from the suspect’s compound.

The suspect is in custody awaiting arraignment in court while the body of the 45-year-old woman has been taken to Lolgorian Level IV Hospital for autopsy.

“Some of the exhibits recovered from the suspect's compound include a pair of, all stained with blood. The body is at Lolgorian Level IV Hospital awaiting autopsy, while the suspect is in police custody pending arraignment. The National Police Service thanks members of the public for their collaboration,” NPS added.
