The officer started wailing after being overpowered by the EACC detectives.

A police officer is in custody after being arrested while demanding a bribe from a liquor shop in Kasarani.

Identified as Paul Kamau Mbugua, the officer stationed at Kasarani Stadium Police Station was busted by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) officers who were acting on a tip-off from the complainant.

According to the anti-graft body, the suspected had demanded Sh 30,000 from the complainant to release two brothers he had arrested and detained at his station.

The officer caused a scene as he strived to block the EACC sleuths from arresting him.

The officer's attempts in resisting arrest proved futile.

During the arrest, a minor scuffle ensued after the police officer started wailing uncontrollably when the EACC detectives informed him that he was under arrest.

In a clip making rounds, the officer was handcuffed against the grills of the liquor store after being overpowered.

He was escorted to Kilimani Police Station before being presented at the EACC Integrity Centre Police Station for further interrogation.

Detectives confiscated the suspect's Taurus Revolver Pistol S/No. Q130360 and ammunition, which they later handed over to the OCS EACC Police Station.
