Babu Owino Appointed to Governing Body of Prestigious University

Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has been appointed to serve in the governing body of the prestigious university.

In a statement, Babu revealed that Weldios University, in Benin had approached him to join its Governing Body.

Babu accepted the offer noting that it was an honour to contribute to the growth of the university. His duties will include being part of the leaders who will implement changes to the institution.

The lawmaker will also play a critical role in drafting the curriculum of the university and how it will be executed.

"It is my Generation’s Honour that this university cares about the future and not only nurtures it but also wants to give a chance to some of us to share our views on how that nurturing should be done," Babu stated.

His appointment followed recommendations from other members of the university and was seconded by the University Chancellor Dr. Chris Oyakhilome 

"This honorary recommendation and call to serve is sequel to your excellence, panache and dexterity of contribution to the wellbeing of the institution overtime coupled with your strength of character and integrity and track record of well-meaning contribution to the society and Africa at large," Oyakhilome stated.

His appointment came after he received an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Political Leadership from the same institution.

"Thanks to the Almighty God for my Honorary Doctorate Degree in Political Leadership from Weldios University in Benin Republic. I’m officially DR BABU OWINO," he wrote.
