The outspoken lawyer has issued a clarification on reports of him leaving the country.

Outspoken lawyer Miguna Miguna has dismissed reports that he has left the country.

In a statement on Sunday, November 13, Miguna said that there were some rumors going around that he has left the country less than a month after returning from exile.

He maintained that he was in the country and was engaged in organizing an alternative national movement for the transformation of Kenya.

"I understand that people are looking for me and spreading rumours that I have left the country. Not yet. I'm right here in Kenya. Strategizing and organizing an alternative national movement for the transformation of Kenya. It will and must be done! Viva!" Miguna tweeted.

His remarks come after he jetted back into the country from Canada on October 20, where he had been deported by former President Uhuru Kenyatta's government since 2018.

His deportation was linked to the mock swearing-in of ODM leader Raila Odinga as the people's president in January 2018.

Miguna's attempts to return were blocked by the then government, despite the existence of court orders directing them to allow Miguna into the country.

He finally confirmed his return after announcing that President William Ruto's government had lifted red alerts imposed on him.

After jetting back to Kenya, Miguna thanked Kenyans who voted for President Ruto, maintaining that without his government, he would not have returned.

"I must extend my gratitude to Kenyans who voted for the Kenya Kwanza government because that is central for me, without this administration, I would not be back home," Miguna previously said.
