Raila is expected to give a keynote address at The World Forum on the Future of Democracy, Tech, and Humankind.

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga is attending a high-level meeting in Berlin, Germany alongside other renowned world leaders.

Raila who Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung'aro accompanies, is expected to give a keynote address at The World Forum on Future of Democracy, Tech, and Humankind.

The two-day annual conference is being held at the Allianz Forum in Berlin.

“Exciting day at The World Forum on the Future of Democracy, Tech, and Humankind in Berlin, with global leaders in politics, civil society, and culture poised to explore groundbreaking ideas and practices for a better world. Discussions on pressing socio-political issues are underway,” Raila said on X.

The top leaders Raila is meeting include former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, actress and philanthropist Sharon Stone, Live Aid founder Bob Geldof and Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Oleksandra Matviichuk.

They are expected to share the same stage with Raila in addressing various issues.

The high-level meeting is expected to raise Raila's Stakes days after he announced bid for the African Union Commission (AUC) chairperson.

Raila has started lobbying other African leaders to support his candidature as he prepares to formally submit his application for the role currently held by Moussa Faki Mahamat.

“I am prepared to take on this challenge and offer myself for service. I have requested my friend, former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo, to continue advocating for my candidacy and engage with other leaders,” Raila stated.

Previously, Odinga served as the AU High Representative for Infrastructure Development in Africa from 2018 to February 2023, a tenure that ended amidst controversy.
