Motorists were advised to use the alternative routes during the two-day closure of the road.

Part of Kenya Avenue will be out of bounds for motorists between Friday, February 23, and Sunday, February 25.

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) said the closure would allow for the maintenance works at the road.

KeNHA notified motorists through a statement published on Friday.

Throughout the closure, motorists accessing Uhuru Highway (A8) from Kenyatta Avenue were counselled to use alternative routes such as University Way, Utalii Street, Market Street, Posta Road, City Hall Way, Harambee Avenue and Haile Selassie Avenue.

They were also advised to approach the affected section with caution, and while at it, follow the traffic signs and guidance by the police and the county traffic marshalls on site.

Earlier, KeNHA had announced temporary closure on Lang’ata Road between T-Mall roundabout and Madaraka Roundabout.

In a notice on Thursday, February 22, the agency said the section would be closed on Saturday, February 24, 2024, and Sunday, February 25, 2024, from 6.00 am to 8.00 pm to facilitate maintenance works along the section
