"It is evident that the government is involved, and it's very sad that this is the government we campaigned for. I am yet to believe that they can do this to me."

Former Starehe Member of Parliament Bishop Margaret Wanjiru has expressed her frustrations after a group of people invaded her Jesus Is Alive Ministries church premises and demolished a section of the wall.

Addressing the media, on Wednesday, March 6, Bishop Wanjiru claimed the group that invaded her church was sent by the Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC).

The former Nairobi County Senatorial aspirant alleged that she and other members of her church were injured during the fracas and their phones snatched.

"We have been attacked severely today. I am injured on the arm and leg, and many of my people are bleeding. These individuals who attacked us today have been sent by Kenya Railways, and I want to state categorically that Weruga Lane does not belong to Railways. This is our property and investment. This is the property of the church and some of my other members,” said Wanjiru.

The former MP called out the Kenya Kwanza government saying the demolitions were politically instigated against her.

"We fought for this Kenya Kwanza government. I was one of the chief campaigners and among the first people who started selling and campaigning for President William Ruto. I didn't campaign expecting to be repaid like this. I didn't campaign for land grabbers to come and claim that our church property belongs to them,” an emotional Wanjiru stated.

She continued “We cannot lose properties in this country. Many have come, some claiming to be from NIS, others saying they are DCIO, and some are police. So, it's evident that the government is involved, and it's very sad that this is the government we campaigned for. I am yet to believe that they can do this to me."

Bishop Wanjiru disclosed that the demolishers had invaded the church premised on February 10 but did not manage to bring down the church wall since there was a wedding going on in the church.

She further claimed that Kenya Railways is trying to cover up themselves since a court case between the church and the corporation is coming up.
