CS Kindiki on Wednesday revoked all licenses and certification permits for second-generation alcohol and alcoholic beverage distillers and manufacturers. 

The Ministry of Interior has released a full list of local companies permitted to manufacture alcohol in Kenya.

In a statement on Thursday, March 7, the Ministry said going forward there would be regular audits to eradicate counterfeit alcoholic drinks.

“Going forward, Alcohol and Drug Control will include routine audits to help eradicate counterfeit alcoholic drinks and drugs in our communities,” read the statement in part.

Interior CS Kithure Kindiki on Wednesday revoked all licenses and certification permits for second-generation alcohol and alcoholic beverage distillers and manufacturers, issued by the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS).

Kindiki pointed out that the government would vet the licenses afresh within twenty-one days.

“All existing valid licenses will be vetted afresh within 21 days of this directive, with premises approved to resume operations only upon receipt of fresh approval,” said Kindiki.

In the list released on Thursday, 55 companies have valid standardization permits from KEBS.

The companies include; 254 Brewing Company Limited, Agro Chemicals And Food Co. Ltd, Algarve Distillers Limited, Biscept Ltd, Corobus Africa Products Ltd, Crafty Chameleon Limited, Crystal World Agencies, Crywan Enterprises Ltd, Elle Kenya Ltd, Fai Amarillo Ltd, Fastlane Wines And Spirits Limited, Faze Three Limited, Frm Ea Packers Limited, Gish Holdings Ltd, Jjasm Mini Distillery Limited, Julijo Investment, Kedsta Investment Ltd, Kenya Breweries Ltd and Kenya Breweries Ltd- Kisumu.

Others are; Kenya Nut Company Limited, Kenya Wine Agencies Limited, Keroche Breweries Ltd, Kiera Hills Limited, Lodiani Water Springs Ltd, London Distillers (K) Ltd, Lumat Company Limited, Lyniber Supplies Ltd, Malachite Limited, Mamboleo Distillers Limited, Manchester Distillers (K) Limited, Mashwa Breweries Ltd, Mdi Limited, Memlands Enterprises Limited, Metro Breweries, Monwalk Investment Ltd, Mt. Kenya Breweries and Patiala Distillers (K) Ltd

The government also cleared Platinum Distillers (K) Ltd, Rift Valley Brewing Company, Savannah Brands Company Limited, Scept Ltd, Sierra Premium Breweries Limited, Sirville Investments Limited, South Rift Industries Limited, Tana Distillers Limited, The Hunter Industries Limited, Tona Brewing Limited, Top Rank Brewing Company Limited, Two Cousins Distillers, Vinepack Ltd, Viva Bebida Limited, Wananchi Breweries Limited, Yamaroku Limited and Zheng Hong Kenya Limited.
