DP Gachagua was scheduled to attend the event as the chief guest.

Public Service Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria has yet again shared a cryptic message after Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua snubbed the launch of his Mt Kenya football tournament in Meru County.

In a statement via X on Saturday, March 9, CS Kuria ranted about betrayal by Kenyan politicians.

“If hate and madharau from leaders was an export, Kenya would be very rich,” said CS Kuria.

However, he noted that the event was successful despite the absence of DP Gachagua.

“The event was simply amazing,” the former Gatundu South MP stated in another tweet.

Gachagua had been invited by CS Kuria to be the chief guest in the event but pulled out of the event at the last minute to attend the burial of former State House Comptroller Lawrance Lenayapa in Laikipia County.

“I bring the greetings from Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua who could not attend,” Kuria told the attendees of the tournament.

Without making any elaboration, CS Kuria also conveyed the apologies of former Agriculture CS Peter Munya.

All eleven governors and the majority of MPs from the Mt Kenya region also skipped Kuria’s event despite receiving invites from the Public Service CS.

However, Imenti North MP Rahim Dawood, Embu MP Njoke Njeri, and Bernad Muriuko on Mbeere South attended the event.

This comes days after Kuria shared another cryptic message online alleging that some internal forces were determined to undermine and sabotage his mandate as the Public Service Cabinet Secretary.

"No amount of internal sabotage will deter me," Moses Kuria stated.
