An expectant mother was lucky to find herself in the custody of Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) soldiers who charged themselves with helping her through delivery.
The patrol officers were on Saturday, March 23, undertaking close operations in Gherille, Wajir when they came across the woman.
Identified as Salma Osman, the woman had been in labour for hours.
The patrol medics immediately swung into action and helped her deliver a healthy baby boy.
They were later taken to Gherille Health facility for postnatal care and vaccination.
The mother was handed goodies, including food.
The act by the army men warmed the hearts of Kenyans who hailed them for the show of humanity.
