" This is the team that is going to give direction in this country because we have laxity in the opposition."

Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino, Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba, and five other lawmakers have launched a movement to fight for Kenyans.

Addressing the media on Tuesday, March 26, Babu said the MPs will be on the ground championing the voice of voiceless Kenyans.

Babu will represent the youth and the Nairobi region together with MP Mark Mwenje and Amos Mwago while Wamuchomba will represent the Mt Kenya region.

Caleb Amisi of Saboti and Busia Women Representative Catherine Omanyo will represent the Western region and Charles Nguna will represent the Eastern region.

“This is a team that will be on the ground, champion the voice of the voiceless, will fight for the inherent and unalienable interests and rights of Kenya citizens everywhere across the eight regions. This team comprises of youthful leadership, the generational change,” said Babu.

The second term MP noted that they were forced to launch the movement due to the opposition’s laxity in fighting for Kenyans.

“We have issues that we will be addressing from time to time, and this is the team that is going to give direction in this country because we have laxity in the opposition and therefore this team will take its rightful place to ensure that the interests of Kenyans are fought for not limited to holding rallies to discuss the plight and issues affecting Kenyans,” Babu added.

The ODM MP further said the team will not be limited to calling for demonstrations against the Kenya Kwanza government in every county, constituency, and ward.

Wamuchomba on her part hit out at the Kenya Kwanza government over the distribution of fake fertilisers to farmers.
