The Head of State arrived at KICC clad in full Safari Rally drivers' gear, interacting with the drivers minutes before the flag-off.

"We will combine efforts with the World Rally Championship to keep the Safari Rally as a world-class sport. This will boost our tourism and overall economic growth," remarked Ruto. 

He added," For the people of Kenya, the WRC Safari Rally is a truly special Easter holiday gift for families and other groups to bond over a thrilling spectacle. For millions of people across the globe, the rally is a captivating showpiece where human skill and endurance, together with the epitome of rugged automotive technology are put to the test on the daunting terrain of Naivasha's glorious landscape." 

The WRC Safari Rally, which will be hosted at Naivasha, Nakuru County, will officially start from Thursday 28th to 31st March.

The President assured the drivers that the country had made excellent preparations with regard to the WRC 2024. 

Kenya Airways on Wednesday, March 27, announced the renewal of its partnership with WRC Safari rally as its official airline sponsor for the event. 

Speaking during the announcement, Kenya Airways CEO Allan Kilavuka said that the partnership not only ensures the seamless logistics of bringing in M-Sport's cars, drivers, support crew, and spare parts but also underscores KQ's commitment to elevating the global stage for motorsports enthusiasts worldwide.”
