"Chiefs will also be required to maintain mandatory work plans," CS Kithure.

Interior CS Kithure Kindiki has disclosed Government plans to assign five police officers to chiefs across the country.

Addressing the press at Mtwapa Location Chief’s office during an impromptu visit on Thursday, November 17, Kithure noted that the State was also considering building standardized offices for chiefs.

"The Government is considering assigning chiefs at least five police officers and construct and equip standardized chiefs’ offices across the country.

"Chiefs will also be required to maintain mandatory work plans, a daily register of services and display a service charter in drive to empower and professionalize grassroots-based National administrators," Kithure stated.

The Interior CS said that all administrators including commissioners will be provided with mandatory service charters outside their offices and work plans in order to inject competence and discourage them from engaging in partisan politics.

“We are going to improve their working environment to make sure they deliver security and are able to articulate government policy more clearly and more effectively by supporting them as they deliver their services," Kithure said.
