“KeNHA alerts motorists of a traffic snarl-up between Kijabe and Soko Mjinga along the Nairobi - Nakuru Highway due to an incident."

The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced a traffic snarl up along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway.

In a statement on Friday, April 19, KeNHA said the traffic snarl-up is between Kijabe town and Soko Mjinga.

“KeNHA alerts motorists of a traffic snarl-up between Kijabe and Soko Mjinga along the Nairobi - Nakuru Highway due to an incident,” read the statement in part.

The authority urged motorists to avoid overlapping in the highway and to consider using the Naivasha-Mai Mahiu road.

“Motorists are advised to avoid overlapping and consider diverting to the Naivasha - Mai Mahiu road for smoother travel,” KeNHA stated.

Further, KeNHA said its contractor and traffic marshals are on site to restore traffic flow.

The statement comes after motorists took to social media to complain over the traffic snarl-up that has made the road impassable.

Some of the motorists urged KeNHA to dual the highway in order to reduce cases of traffic snarl-ups on the road.
