Kenya Power has confirmed electricity outage in most parts of the country.

In a statement to newsrooms on Thursday, May 2, Kenya Power disclosed that they experienced a system disturbance on the grid which caused an outage in most parts of Kenya. 

"At 5:40 PM (EAT) today, Thursday, 2nd May 2024, we experienced a system disturbance on the grid, resulting in power supply disruption in most parts of the country.

"We regret any inconvenience caused and urge for patience from our customers as we work towards restoring normal power supply at the earliest opportunity," Kenya Power said in a statement. 

The statement added, "We will issue an update on the progress of the power restoration exercise within two hours."

Among the counties affected by the electricity outage include; Kiambu, Nakuru, Nairobi, and Mombasa.
