Four people have been killed after being involved in a grisly road accident on Thursday, May 9 near the Tenwek bridge in Bomet County.

The accident happened after a lorry lost control and rammed into a small car on the bridge, forcing it into a river.

According to reports, the two vehicles were heading towards Silibwet when the accident occurred. The lorry in question is said to have fled the scene after the accident.

Photos seen by Nairobileo.co.ke show a wrecked vehicle in the river and locals gathered on the banks.

The bodies of the four who included two males and two females were taken to Longisa Referral Hospital mortuary in Bomet County and the wreckage of the car was towed to Bomet police station.

The accident comes days after three people were killed in a road accident on the Nakuru-Eldoret highway near Nakuru Teachers College.

The horrific accident involved a truck and a 14-seater matatu.

Other passengers injured in the accident were rushed to Nakuru Referral Hospital for medical attention, while the bodies of the deceased were taken to Annex Hospital Funeral Home.
