  • The country has been witnessed growing political intolerance.
  • Murkomen believes Uhuru is entertaining the violence despite his position as President.

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has accused President Uhuru Kenyatta of celebrating violence.

This comes amid political intolerance in the country over the 2022 general polls.

Through his Twitter account, Murkomen shared a clip of President Uhuru speaking while meeting youth at Sagana State Lodge over the weekend.

The former Senate Majority Leader stated that President Uhuru is on record celebrating political violence twice in the full glare of the CIC.

At the same time, Murkomen claimed that he might have information on the Kenol church violence that led to the death of one person.

“For the 2nd time I have heard the President celebrate violence. In the 1st instance it was after Kibra elections. In Sagana he was celebrating violence in Bama Market. He admits Organising violence in the past. One day I will tell you about Kenol Church violence. That’s our CIC,” Murkomen tweeted.

In his speech, President Uhuru stated that it was wrong for the youth to disrupt Raila Odinga’s meeting in Githurai.

Leaders allied to the former Premier accused Deputy President William Ruto’s allies of planning the violence on Raila’s Giturai rally.

The Head of State insinuated that youth allied to Raila might have planned the violence at DP Ruto’s Burma market rally.

Uhuru further asked the youth to be wary of leaders who use their money to win votes. He stated that youth could take the money but never sell their votes.
