"We urge Motorists plying that route to exercise caution and seek alternative routes as we endeavor to Transform Urban Mobility."

The Kenyan Urban Roads Authority (KURA) has announced traffic disruptions along Valley Road for the next two days.

In a statement on Friday, May 17, KURA Director General Silas Kinoti said the closure of some sections of the road will allow the contractor to make improvements on the road.

“We wish to notify the general public that there will be traffic disruption along Valley Road, Nairobi from 6 AM Saturday, 18th May till 6 PM Monday 20th May, 2024. This is to allow the contractor on site to improve sections of the road,” read the statement in part.

On Saturday the Valley Road section between Integrity Centre and the Ralph Bunche Road will be unavailable to motorists.

On Sunday the section between Ralph Bunche Road and the Argwings Kodhek Roundabout will be closed while the section between Argwings Kodhek Roundabout and the Ngong Road Roundabout will be out of bounds for motorists on Monday.

The authority noted that the scheduled maintenance will take place day and night to minimize the work period and ensure minimal disruptions.

KURA further asked motorists plying the Valley Road route to seek alternative routes until the maintenance of the sections is over.

“The contractor has scheduled to work day and night so as to minimize the work period and ensure minimal disruptions. We urge Motorists plying that route to exercise caution and seek alternative routes as we endeavor to Transform Urban Mobility,” KURA added.
