The four IEBC commissioners disowned the August 9 presidential election results announced by Chebukati.

ODM leader Raila Odinga's former campaign secretariat spokesperson Makau Mutua has warned that the removal of the four IEBC commissioners from the office will occasion dire consequences.

In a Twitter statement on Saturday, the lawyer threatened that there might not an election in 2027 in the event the four embattled IEBC commissioners are kicked out.

The four are Juliana Cherera(vice chairperson), Francis Wanderi, Irene Cherop and Justus Abonyo  Nyang'aya. They have been accused of trying to subvert the will of the people.

"UDA needs to know that if through a kangaroo process — in Parliament or without — it dismisses and replaces the IEBC Four that the 2027 elections, and any by-elections, won’t take place. Period," he Twitted.

The four IEBC commissioners disowned the August 9 presidential election results announced by IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati that saw Ruto narrowly beat Azimio boss Raila Odinga.

Four petitions have been filed in Parliament seeking the establishment of a tribunal to kick them out of office.

The four commissioners will be defending themselves before a parliamentary committee on Monday and Tuesday.

This comes even as the country is due to hold by-elections in Elgeyo Marakwet, Kandara and Garissa Township.

Area MPs MPs Kipchumba Murkomen, Alice Wahome and Aden Duale, respectively resigned to take up cabinet posts.
