K24 TV has today announced that its weekly political show The Punchline is set to make a comeback on TV effective today February 9, 2021 at 8:30pm.

The show will be hosted by seasoned journalist Debarl Inea who replaces Anne Kiguta who resigned a few months ago.

According to K24 management, the show will take a different approach and will be now be featuring a panel unlike before where it featured detailed one guest interviews.

Prior to joining K24 TV, Debarl was the host of the popular morning show AM Live on NTV.


This is a new opportunity for Debarl who was among several Nation Media employees who were sent home during the company's last major restructuring exercise.

Meanwhile, Anne Kiguta resigned in December 2020, noting that she resigned due to fundamental disagreement on the editorial processes.

"Owing to fundamental disagreement on editorial processes and direction the show was being forced to take, I suspended my services as an independent contractor to the show on November 21, 2020.

"My decision was guided by the Code of Conduct contained in the Media Council of Kenya Act which guides all journalists practicing in the republic of Kenya," read the statement in part.

"It is with regret that today I announce that I will not be returning to the programme," she added.

She also thanked her viewers for standing with her throughout the period, noting that she could no longer be part of the show in 'good conscience.'
