DP Ruto: People are angry with us when we give out wheelbarrows, carts, salon equipment and other items to young people and women. They know jobless people are easy to mobilise to demonstrate on their behalf

Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has cautioned Deputy President William Ruto and his allies against distributing their wheelbarrows in the constituency.

In a tweet, Babu noted that if the team distributing wheelbarrows does so in Embakasi East, he will dismantle the wheelbarrows and send them to Ruto’s Sugoi home.

“If you try bring wheelbarrows in Embakasi East I will remove the wheels and send them to sugoi unopposed,” he tweeted.

Babu Owino has been a harsh critic of the DP’s hustler narrative, claiming the Ruto is a fake hustler.

“Kama punda hawezi vuta mkokoteni je, ma youth wataweza? Ma youth waendeshe wheelbarrow as you ride in a chopper?” he posed in a previous set of tweets.

DP Ruto vows to continue distributing wheelbarrows

Over the past few months, the DP has been hosting youth groups at his Karen residence, empowering them with tools such as wheelbarrows, car washing machines, salon equipment, among others.

Speaking last week while distributing the equipment, Ruto noted that he will not stop empowering youth and less fortunate Kenyans.

“The problem with Kenya is that many leaders are detached from the problems facing ordinary people. They despise them for their small beginnings and do not see the small businesses as being important… People are angry with us when we give out wheelbarrows, carts, salon equipment and other items to young people and women. They know jobless people are easy to mobilise to demonstrate on their behalf,” Ruto said.
