7 people have been confirmed dead in a tragic road accident along the Nakuru-Eldoret highway.

Seven people have lost their lives and 10 others injured in a tragic road accident at Ngata Bridge along the Nakuru-Eldoret Highway.

Nakuru West Sub County Police Commander Edwin Otieno confirmed the Tuesday, December 13, incident which involved two 14-seater matatus and a trailer.

In photos seen by Nairobileo.co.ke, one of the matatus had rammed onto the truck and had overturned on the side of the road.

Members of the public responded to the scene and helped in rescue operations. Otieno said that the trailer veered off the road before colliding with the oncoming matatus.

The incident came barely weeks after three people were killed and several others injured in an accident on the same spot.

The Saturday morning, November 26, accident involved a matatu and trailer.

Nakuru West OCPD Edward Ogware, who confirmed the incident, said that the trailer had lost control before colliding head-on with the matatu. 

Survivors of the incident were rushed to Nakuru Level 5 Hospital for treatment.

The deceased were students of the Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology.
