United States President Joe Biden on Friday morning called President Uhuru Kenyatta where they held bilateral talks on the relationships between the two countries.
The call was confirmed by the White House in a statement.
According to the White House, Biden emphasized the United States’ continued commitment to working closely with Kenya.
The US President affirmed that the country will keep supporting Kenya on matters of regional peace and security.
“The President applauded Kenya’s leadership in the Horn of Africa and commitment to counterterrorism, economic growth, addressing climate change, and sustainable development,” the White House said.

At the same time, they shared insights on the situation in Ethiopia following the Tigray region clashes.
Biden affirmed the US position to ensure there was no more loss of lives in the region.
“The leaders also discussed the need for cooperation on other matters of regional stability,” the statement reads.
The leaders also talked about their latest engagements under the bilateral Free Trade Agreement.
