This comes a month after Ngirici quit Deputy President William Ruto-linked party, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), citing unfair treatment by a section of UDA officials.

Kirinyaga County Woman Representative Purity Ngirici has hit out at politicians insulting President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Speaking in Kirinyaga, the Woman Rep took issue with Uhuru's political rivals noting that her county has benefited from his development projects.

Ngirici also noted that the politicians in question are not welcomed to the county.

"Nyinyi wote mnajua hii barabara iko hapa, ilikua? Tulikua na barabara 66 kilometers Kirinyaga yote, leo hio akiondoka tuko na 683 kilometers, mmeshukuru?

"Tungependa kuomba wale ambao wanatukana president, wale ambao wanatembea huku kwetu kutukana president tunawaambia sisi ni watu wa kuheshimu kiongozi," Ngirici told the crowd.

She stated that officials attempted to coerce her to back down on her gubernatorial seat and vie for a parliamentary seat.

"When I appeared at the headquarters, the officials tried to convince me to give up my gubernatorial ambitions and vie for the Mwea parliamentary seat on a UDA ticket

"I refused, as they were determined to kill my dream. If UDA officials are telling me to vie for a junior seat, do you expect nominations to be free and fair?" Ngirici posed.

Following the exit, she stated that she will contest for the gubernatorial seat on an independent ticket.

Ngirici proceeded to rebrand a building that she had donated to serve as UDA offices, further removing UDA banners from her campaign truck, mini-vehicles and her sound system truck.
