A grisly road accident left four people dead on Friday in Tarasa along the Malindi - Garsen road.

According to police reports, two kids who were aboard the gray Toyota Fielder survived the crash and they were rushed to Ngao Hospital.

Police have confirmed the incident.

This comes barely a day after Nairobi Traffic Commander Joshua Omukuta stated that at least thirty-two pedestrians have died in road accidents since January 2022 in Nairobi.

Speaking during a press conference, the police attributed the accident to the lack of using designated foot bridges in the city, adding that an additional eighty-nine pedestrians are nursing serious injuries.

“This is a serious matter that we are giving advice that the government invested a lot in designing, developing and constructing the foot bridges for the purpose of ensuring that all pedestrians are crossing the road safely

"So, we are giving directives that use the foot bridges for your own sake,” Omukuta said.
