ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo has received backlash from netizens on social media after erecting billboards welcoming President William Ruto to Siaya County.
The ICT CS via Twitter on Wednesday, January 11, shared photos of the billboards welcoming the Head of State ahead of his Nyanza tour which starts on Friday.
"Karibu Rais," one of the billboards seen by Nairobileo.co.ke read in part.
However, Kenyans immediately raised questions asking whether it was taxpayers' money financing the billboards.

Another section of Kenyans hit out at Mr. Owalo saying it was a waste of resources.
President Ruto is expected to start an extensive tour of the Nyanza region on Friday, January 13.
Ruto will preside over the ground-breaking ceremony for the Affordable Housing programme in Homa Bay County.
The Head of State will on Saturday, January 14, grace the homecoming ceremony Owalo.
