President William Ruto has landed in Homa Bay County as he begins his two-day Nyanza region tour. 

President William Ruto on Friday, January 13 began a two-day working tour of the Nyanza region where he is expected to launch several development projects.

The head of State landed at Kabunde Airstrip in Homa Bay County and was welcomed by his Deputy Rigathi Gachagua, Governor Gladys Wanga, ICT CS Eliud Owalo, and Interior PS Raymond Omollo among other leaders.

“Welcome to Homa Bay, President William Ruto, Karibu sana Your Excellency, to the county of Endless Potential. We are ready to share our development priorities,” Homa Bay Governor Wanga tweeted moments after welcoming the President.

President Ruto is expected to launch the first phase of the 5,000 affordable housing programme for Homa Bay County before commissioning the newly completed Oyugis market and break ground for the Homa Bay fish market.

He will also preside over the commissioning of the Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University of Science and Technology (JOOUST) Blue Economy Research Hub.

President Ruto will then grace the homecoming ceremony of ICT Cabinet Secretary Eliud Owalo on Saturday, January 14, 2023, in Siaya County.
