Chebukati called for the formation of the commission on inquiry to probe the Bomas chaos.

Narok Senator Ledama Olekina now wants the commission of inquiry on Bomas chaos to probe the last two General Elections.

In a statement, Ledama opined that it will be prudent for the commission to establish what happened in the last two general elections for the truth to be known.

“To end all conspiracy theories and talk on the IEBC debacles, let's cut to the chase. Set up a Commission of Inquiry and extend it to cover the last two elections,” he said.

The proposal by Ledama comes after Former IEBC Chairman Wafula Chebukati, former commissioners Boya Molu and Abdi Guliye called for the formation of the commission of inquiry to investigate the Bomas chaos.

Former IEBC chairperson Chebukati said the inquiry will be crucial in ensuring the independence of the polls body is respected and averting incidents of abuse of power.

"The outcome of the inquiry we believe will bolster the independence of the commission and make sure it maintains the stature contemplated in the constitution," he said.

"It will also enable a future election environment devoid of harassment, intimidation, profiling and harm of commission staff while discharging their duties."
