Raila Odinga had left Kenya for South Africa on a one-week tour. 

Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga has landed at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) after a one-week tour in South Africa.

The opposition chief was welcomed by Narc Kenya Party leader Martha Karua, Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka and National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi.

Other leaders who welcomed the former Prime Minister at JKIA include; Roots Party leader George Wajackoyah, Jubilee Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni, former Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya, and former Defence CS Eugene Wamalwa.

Raila Odinga is expected to head to Kamukunji grounds in Nairobi to hold a rally dubbed People’s Baraza.

“Upon arrival, Mr. Odinga will proceed to the Kamukunji grounds in Kamukunji Constituency for a People’s Baraza consultations with the public where they will discuss recent disclosures by a whistleblower on the conduct of the 2022 general election,” Dennis Onyango, Odinga's spokesman said in a statement to newsrooms.

Raila’s absence in the last few days saw his key allies led by Kalonzo Musyoka, Martha Karua, and Jubilee SG Jeremiah Kioni stage numerous press conferences announcing that new information in their possession show that the August 9 polls were rigged.

“What has been verified so far shows that Raila won the election with 8,170,355 votes representing 57.53 percent of the votes cast. Ruto got 5,915,973 votes representing 41.66 percent of the votes cast,” Kioni said on January 18.
