The tribunal is probing suspended IEBC Commissioner Irene Masit.

A tribunal probing the removal of Suspended IEBC commissioner Irene Masit from office has dismissed a bid by the Azimio La Umoja Coalition to be enjoined in the case.

Through lawyer Danstan Omari, Azimio had applied to be part of the case.

Omari said his client had been adversely mentioned in the case hence his application to have them enjoined in the matter.

The tribunal however through its chair Aggrey Muchelule said Azimio had not given sufficient reasons on how they would be affected whether the ruling is in favor or against Commissioner Irene Masit.

Omari had presented an affidavit from Oduor Ong’wen in which the coalition wanted to defend themselves against allegations leveled against them.

Irene Masit is being probed on allegations that she attempted to subvert the will of the people.

Her co-accused commissioners resigned from office after being suspended.

They include former IEBC vice chair Juliana Cherera, former commissioners Justus Nyang'aya and Francis Wanderi.

The four IEBC commissioners distanced themselves from the results announced by IEBC chair Wafula Chebukati.

They filed an affidavit at the Supreme Court asking the apex Court to nullify the results.
