Absolom had on Monday last week termed President Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua as thieves and threatened to mobilize Azimio supporters to storm the State House and kick them out.

Korogocho MCA Absolom Odhiambo was on Monday, January 30 arrested by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI) officers in relation to last week’s rally at Kamukunji ground where he insulted President William Ruto.

DCI officers picked up the MCA at the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) offices in Upper Hill where he was waiting to talk to NCIC officials.

This is after he was summoned to appear before the commission over the incitement remarks he made on Monday, January 23.

"We have summoned Absalom Odhiambo to record a statement. We are calling upon all leaders to stop actions and rhetorics that can trigger violence.

"We wish to remind Kenyans that the president who is also head of state is the symbol of national unity. Consequently, any actions that undermine the presidency will not only damage national cohesion but will also injure the peace and unity among Kenyans. The president should be accorded respect," the commission said on Friday, January 27.
