The top 2020 KCPE candidate Faith Mumo had aimed for higher marks.

Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha announced the 2020 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results on April 15, 2021.

Mumo Faith Kawii was named the top performer of the KCPE class of 2020 after she scored 433 marks.

She is from KARI-Mwailu Primary School.

In an interview with NairobiLeo.co.ke, faith expressed her joy and gratitude at being named top in the country.

She revealed that she was not fortunate to hear CS Magoha pronounce her name, she was informed of her performance by a relative.

Faith conceded that she had targeted to garner 450 marks.

"I want to thank my mother and father, they have been there for me. I expected a 450, though the exam was kind of easy, the results came out this way," Faith narrated.

She aspires to join Kenya High School, and be a neurosurgeon thereafter.

Faith described her key to success as, "Being prayerful to God and hard work and accepting that competition is there between you and your friends."
