Narok Senator Ledama Olekina now wants the eight ODM Members of Parliament who met President William Ruto at State House to resign.

Taking to his Twitter account on Wednesday, February 8, Senator Ledama opined that the MPs should seek a fresh mandate from the people using whichever party they may like.

“Why don’t you just resign from ODM and seek a fresh mandate with whichever vehicle you want to? And if you are nominated you go and prepare the ground for 2027,” Ledama wrote.

His sentiments come after the Azimio la Umoja alliance convened a must-attend parliamentary group meeting in a bid to streamline the coalition’s internal affairs.

According to National Assembly Minority Leader Opiyo Wandayi, the meeting will start on Thursday at Stoni Athi resort in Machakos county.

"The meeting we have called for on Thursday is an Azimio parliamentary group meeting, it has got nothing whatsoever to do with what transpired in State House. That meeting is basically to take stock of where we are and prepare ourselves for the second schedule of the commencement of the National Assembly sessions," Opiyo Wandayi stated.

He added,” We will be appraising ourselves on the gains we have made since elections and if possible the losses so that as we move forward in one accord. I encourage everyone to attend because it is going to be a very crucial meeting that happens once in a session of parliament.”
