The clarification by KDF came after a newspaper-like advert indicated that they will carry out recruitment soon.

The Kenya Defence Forces has warned members of the public against reports indicating that a new set of soldiers will be recruited soon.

The clarification by KDF came after a newspaper-like advert indicated that they will carry out recruitment soon.

The fake advert had indicated qualifications for a recruit for various ranks of officers within the KDF.

"Members of the public are notified that Kenya Defence Forces is not conducting a recruitment exercise. Members of the public are urged to verify information on employment advertisements on the Ministry of Defence's website, our social media platforms or in the local dailies," the KDF tweeted.

The Forces further asked Kenyans to verify any advert first on its social media handles or official website before falling prey to any viral advert being shared widely on social media.

"Members of the public are urged to verify information on employment advertisements on the Ministry of Defence’s website, our social media platforms or in the local dailies."

When recruiting soldiers, KDF does post adverts in the local dailies and the same is equally posted on their social media channels and website.
