A section of Nairobi City residents was on Tuesday forced to walk long distances as the Nairobi Metropolitan Services (NMS) conducted a test run for the New Green Park PSV terminus.
The Green Park Terminus is located at the former Lunar park area which is quite some distance from the usual Railway bus terminus where matatus using Ngong Road drop off their passengers.
Due to the test run, Matatus from Ngong Road and Lang’ata area were requested to use the terminus, meaning passengers had to walk from the terminus to different parts of town.

Weighing in on the new terminus, a section of passengers noted that it will make life harder for them since they have to pay extra cash to get to town from the terminus.
The terminus is part of the NMS’ plan to decongest the city by reducing the number of Public Service vehicles accessing the CBD.
The terminus is expected to be officially launched in the next month. NMS organized the test run to help improve areas that may cause concern once the project is officially unveiled.
A few weeks ago, President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga visited the terminus and expressed optimism with the manner in which NMS was handling the project.
After Green Park, NMS is expected to move to other parts of the city and establish similar projects in its Nairobi CBD decongestion plan.
