Citizen TV political affairs editor Francis Gachuri has resigned from Royal Media Services (RMS) after being appointed as the Head of Communication in the Interior Ministry. 

Citizen TV political affairs editor Francis Gachuri has resigned from Royal Media Services (RMS) after being appointed as the Head of Communication in the Interior Ministry. 

Speaking to Nairobileo.co.ke on Wednesday, March 1, Gachuri confirmed the appointment. 

The celebrated news reporter joined the RMS in September 2007 and has served the SK Macharia-owned media company for 16 years.

While in RMS, Gachuri served as a senior political reporter, editor, News Gang panelist, and news presenter at Inooro TV.

Gachuri also hosts the Kirirmbi programe where he hosts politicians and political analysts to discuss politics and current affairs, especially from the Mt Kenya region.

He was one of the media personalities that moderated the Deputy Presidential debate at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa (CUEA) on July 19, 2022.

The 43-year-old attended Senior Chief Koinange High School in Kiambu County before joining Moi University to pursue a degree in communication.

Gachuri is married to Carol Gachuri who he met while in high school. The couple is blessed with three children; Sandra, Curtis and Marcus.
