Former EACC boss Prof PLO Lumumba on March 1, 202 wrote a confidential letter addressed to ODM leader Raila Odinga and President William Ruto.

In the letter, seen by Nairobi Leo, Lumumba recounted to the two leaders how the August 9, presidential election was conducted, results declared and petitions filed at the Supreme Court ruled on.

He detailed that it is no secret President William Ruto was the duly elected President after the IEBC declaration and the Supreme Court ruling that upheld his win.

He also raised concerns with Raila's public engagements and the latest 14-day ultimatum, which he gave to president William Ruto failure to which the country will witness massive protests.

In view of the prevailing situation, Lumumba said the he has observed that the country is on tenterhooks.

In that regard, he shared a specific message with President Ruto stating:

"Continue discharging your duties as the duly elected president of the republic of Kenya without fear or favour but work with the opposition to ensure economic recovery, social cohesion and political stability." 

To Raila he summarily said:

"However much aggrieved you feel, you concede that short of a disruptive revolution we have a flat accompli as to who is the President of the Republic of Kenya. Further, I beseech you to use your considerable experience  and influence to help existing Institution such as Parliament to bring necessary changes as we look to the future."
