Kalonzo announced that he would be running for presidency in August on a Wiper party ticket.

Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu has sent a message to Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka after he bolted out of the Azimio One Kenya coalition party.

In a tweet on Wednesday, Ngilu urged the former Vice President to reconsider his decision and remain in the Raila Odinga-led political outfit.

The county boss said that the former Prime Minister and his newly-unveiled running mate, Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua, were the best bet for the Ukambani region to form the next government.

“We urge our brother @skmusyoka to reconsider and remain in Azimio La Umoja so that as a community we can work together towards uplifting our people. @RailaOdinga and @MarthaKarua are Ukambani’s best bet at being in the next government,” Ngilu stated.

She added that if Kalonzo went alone in the presidential race, he was going to spoil votes from the region and the votes would not help him clinch the top seat.

Ngilu said that the Chief Cabinet Secretary post that was being offered to Kalonzo befitted the Kamba community urging him to return to Azimio.

Kalonzo on Monday announced that he would be running for presidency in August after he failed to bag the Azimio running mate slot.

"I have ended my relationship with Azimio La Umoja after Raila Odinga opted to pick Martha Karua as his running mate, I will run as President on Wiper ticket under Oka Coalition," he said.
