His request comes as Raila’s 14-day ultimatum to President Ruto on lowering taxes and restoring food subsidies to cushion Kenyans is about to elapse.

Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has requested Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga to stand with Kenyans before going for demonstrations.

Speaking on Saturday, March 4 in Kisumu, Cherargei requested the former Prime Minister to consider lowering the price of cooking gas.

“Hata kama Baba anataka kusimama na wakenya, yeye anauza gas anafaa arudishe bei chini kabla hajaenda maandamano. Tutamshukuru na tutampea askari wa kutosha afanye maadamano hata mwezi mzima lakini bei ya gas ikuje chini,” said Cherargei.

At the same time, the UDA lawmaker asked retired President Uhuru Kenyatta to help the government in lowering the high cost of living by cutting the prices of his milk and fuel businesses.

“Uhuru unauza mafuta through rubis, shukisha bei ndio tujue unahurumia wakenya. Maziwa hapa we ndio unauza Kenya mzima, ile ya brookside urudishe chini pia,” the Nandi Senator added.

The ODM leader on February 22 threatened to lead countrywide mass action if President Ruto fails to adhere to their demands.

“If these demands are not met within 14 days, we shall lead Kenyans to mass action across the country to restore sanity,” said Raila.
