  • ODM makes changes and kicks out Otiende Amollo from top parliamentary committee.

ODM has removed MP Otiende Amollo from the National Assembly's Justice and Legal Affairs Committee.

The party replaced Amollow with Ruaraka MP TJ Kajwang at JLAC.

Meanwhile, DPP Noordin Haji has asked the court to bar Senate Minority Leader James Orengo from representing former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero in his corruption trial.

DPP argued that a court ruling had stopped Orengo and other State officers from representing suspects in corruption and economic crimes suspects.

Special prosecutor James Kihara told chief magistrate Douglas Ogoti that Orengo, being an elected senator and a Minority leader of the Senate, is a full-time state officer.

He further noted that the Senator is required by law not to engage in any other gainful employment.

The special prosecutor added that his involvement in the case raises issues of conflict of interest.

Orengo through lawyer Julie Soweto opposed the application by Kihara as the court ordered the latter to serve all parties in the case.
