The campaign “Share the road”, highlights challenges on the road faced by cyclists, especially women cyclists.

The First Lady, Mama Rachel Ruto on Tuesday, March 7, flagged off the Mama Cycling Awareness Ride 2023, which started at State House and ended at Karura Forest Nairobi.

"Cycling is a critical aspect of environmental sustainability and we need to encourage the adoption of safe non-motorized transport. This includes considerations in the design of our roads," Rachel said during the launch.

Cyclists joined the first lady in planting 200 trees at Karura Forest.

The event was attended by the Principal Secretary for sports & arts Jonathan Mueke, H.E. South Korean Ambassador to Kenya Ambassador Yeo Sung-Jun, Deputy Chief Conservator of Forests Charity Munyasia, and the CEO of AAR Hospital Dr. John Kenneth Muma.
