COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli on Wednesday, March 8 visited former Vice President Moody Awori.

Central Organization of Trade Unions (COTU) Secretary General  Francis Atwoli on Wednesday, March 8 visited former Vice President Moody Awori at his Lavington home.

In an update via Twitter, Atwoli stated that he visited Awori in the company of former Attorney General Amos Wako and former Westlands MP Fred Gumo.

“This morning together with Attorney General emeritus Sen. Amos Wako and Hon. Fred Gumo, we paid a visit to the former Vice President of Kenya Hon. Arthur Moody Awuor at his Lavington Home. It was great catching up with Hon. Moody over many issues of mutual interest,” Atwoli tweeted.

This comes days after the former Vice President’s family dismissed reports that he had passed away.

The family was forced to issue the clarification after social media on Monday last week become awash with claims that Uncle Moody had ‘passed on’.

Awori served, as the country’s ninth second in command from 2003 to 2007. He was appointed as the Vice President by former President Mwai Kibaki following the death of Michael Kijana Wamalwa.

The 94-year-old also served as the Funyula MP from 1984 to 2007 before losing to current Busia Governor Paul Otwoma.
