The visit on the other hand did not go well with ODM leader Raila Odinga who does not recognize William Ruto as President.

An ODM Parliamentary Group meeting held on March 5 by Kisumu County Assembly Majority Leader Ken Oluoch resolved that the eleven MCAs be de-whipped over being disloyal to the party.

The Speaker of the Kisumu Assembly Elisha Oraro confirmed the receipt of the letter from ODM and stated that he would follow the directives of the party according to the standing orders.

“I read the letter by ODM in line with the House Standing Orders. The party has the right to place or remove you from a committee but if you feel aggrieved, you should appeal to the party,” Oraro stated.
