Safaricom urged members of the public to ignore the said fake letter, saying it did not emanate from its company.

Safaricom has blacklisted a controversial letter doing around on social media tagging Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua as fake.

This was after a letter allegedly from the telecommunications company responding to Rigathi Gachagua's remarks made on Tuesday morning at a local vernacular radio station emerged.

Through a statement issued on its social media pages, Safaricom urged members of the public to ignore the said fake letter, saying it did not emanate from its company.

The giant telecommunications company clarified that all official communications from the company are usually shared through the company's verified social media pages.

"Please note that all our official communication is shared through our verified social media channels," read Safaricom's statement.

In the fake letter, Safaricom had allegedly responded to Gachagua's remarks made while appearing at the Inooro radio station.

The controversial letter told off Gachagua claiming Safaricom will not allow Gachagua and his team to interfere with its business which will eventually lead to the shutting down of the company and other major corporate firms.

This was after Gachagua during the show, suggested that the Hustler Nation government will look into empowering small businesses in the country to generate more taxes instead of focusing on only big companies like Safaricom and Kenya Airways.

According to Ruto's deputy nominee, instead of pumping a lot of money into big companies like Kenya Airways and Safaricom, the government should consider empowering small companies which he said will generate double the tax that few companies would do.

"Instead of having one giant company called Safaricom paying taxes, If you take that money and inject it into small businesses, they will pay 30 times the amount of tax put together," Rigathi said while appearing on Inooro FM.
