Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen on Thursday, May 6, 2021, before the Senate narrated his experience working as an intern at the National Assembly.
The Senator intimated that he was inspired by his spell as an intern at parliament.
"Watching Senator Orengo, Professor Anyang' Nyong'o, Mukhisa Kituyi, Honourable Wetangula Moses, Honourable Amos Wako, I was so inspired.
"One day while sitted at the gallery at the National Assembly I was so inspired that I wanted to become a Member of Parliament," Murkomen recalled.

The Senator was addressing Interns who were present as the Senate debated the Constitution Amendment Bill 2020.
He urged the interns present to draw inspiration from happenings within the Senate buildings and keep track of the matters of grave concern deliberated on parliament floors.
"This is an opportunity for you to become inspired and be ready to come here and join me and others that you would have been watching just like I did for those who were ahead of me.
"Most importantly, its an inspiration for them to join a path of changing this country. In whatever they do, even if they don't join politics, they can be able to inspire this nation," Murkomen stated.
The Senator recounted his days as University lecturer, describing the period as the most fulfilling in his life as he got to interact with and inspire students.
He urged the Senate to positively influence the interns and prepare them for the future of this country.
