"I will communicate through Hon Junet Mohamed or Wehliye Mohamed."

Senior Counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi has taken a break from Twitter beginning today, Thursday, March 23.

The lawyer announced that he has signed off to mark the Ramadan season and will only be back once the period is over.

"Ramadan Kareem. As usual, I will sign off tonight and sign in on Eid day InshaAllah. If I have an urgent message for the nation, I will communicate through Hon Junet Mohamed or Wehliye Mohamed. I hope Hon Raila will not mess with ourRamadan!" he tweeted.

Wehliye however said he will also be keeping off social media during the Ramadan period.

"Senior Counsel, I too take a break from these streets during the holy month," Wehliye said.

Ahmednasir started the tradition last year where he keeps off Twitter, where he has been making several commentaries, during Ramadan and only resumes that during EID Day.

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, observed by Muslims worldwide as a month of fasting, prayer, reflection and community.

The Ramadan period ends with Eid-al-Fitr. Muslims mark EID worldwide because it marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-sunset fasting of Ramadan.
