ODM leader Raila Odinga now says he will proceed with the scheduled demos next week after criticism from President William Ruto.

The Head of State challenged Odinga to face him instead of organising demos and paralysing businesses in Nairobi CBD.

"Stop the arrogance and face me. Stop paralysing the businesses of Mama mboga, matatu, and other Kenyans. I am the one you ran against, if you have an issue with me come face me," the President told Odinga during his visit in Kisii County.

In a rejoined, the former Prime Minister now says they will continue with the protests until the cost of living comes down.

"We will continue with the protests on Monday and Thursday until they open the services and the cost of living comes down," Odinga said while speaking in Kisii County on Friday, March 24.

President Ruto and his deputy Gachagua.

The Azimio leader called on protestors to turn out in large numbers during the protests slated for next week.

At the same time, President Ruto's Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has maintained that the Kenya Kwanza government will not dialogue Odinga.

Gachagua noted that the government cannot engage in talks with someone who is leading protests and destroying property.

“We cannot dialogue with someone who is leading protesters in destroying the property of other Kenyans for selfish gains,” said Gachagua.
