Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) boss Amin Mohamed on Tuesday, March 28, visited DJ Fatxo's apartment where interior designer Jeff Mwathi died.

The visit comes ahead of the scheduled exhumation of the body on Friday, 31st March 2023.

In an update by DCI on Wednesday, Mr. Mohamed joined the investigating team during the reconstruction of the scene at Redwood Apartment.

"In the reconstruction, the DCI Headquarters Homicide team and Crime Scene personnel from the DCI National Forensic Laboratory sought to identify gaps that the exhumation is expected to provide answers once," DCI said.

Mr. Mohamed assured the family that justice would be served.

Mwathi is said to have fallen from the 12th floor of Redwood Apartments along Thika Road where the DJ lives. Addressing the press on the incident, Fatxo said he was the one who contacted Mwathi's family to inform them of his death.

"I went with Jeff to my house and then I immediately left with three ladies then later came back after a few hours finding that Jeff was not in the house and the others were there, I am the one who went with them to report to police that Jeff is missing.

"There is this issue going on that I did not mourn the death of Jeff. I reached out to his family, I'm the one who actually contacted them and told them that Jeff is no more. I told them I would have supported them to bury their son," Fatxo claimed.
