A KCSE top performer has thanked Embakasi East MP Babu Owino for his hand in her success.

Embakasi Member of Parliament Babu Owino has expressed his delight after one of the candidates he had helped pay school fees for scored an A in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams.

The girl, Roy Ashley scored an A of 82 points from Siakago Girls High School.

"Ashley is one of the top students in KCSE Nationally and she resides at Utawala in Embakasi East constituency.

"We paid her school fees from form one to form four. Congratulations to her and May God continue blessing her," an ecstatic Babu stated.

Ashley narrated that her experience in school was tough, having been sent home on multiple occassions for lack of school fees.

She expressed her gratitude to one of her mother's friends and the Embakasi East legislator for facilitating her studies through the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) bursaries.

"Thank you so much Babu Owino. Especially during the Covid-19 period, we were not in school and I used to follow your online classes. Thank you for also helping my sister who is in university. You provided her with bursaries. You have helped us a lot.

"Continue helping us, as I join university, I hope you continue to be by my side. May God bless you as you help others as well," Ashley gratified.

The first time MP hit the headlines during the pandemic, taking learners across the country through online classes, a gesture that was widely lauded by the media and the Ministry of Education.
