Governor Joho: "I won't allow anyone to even imagine that they can come and play with us in our region, be it William Ruto or his people. In fact, he is such a coward! He's so afraid to come here that he is just sending his people.

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho has sent a daring message to Deputy President William Ruto over the upcoming Msambweni mini-poll.

Speaking in Msambweni after ODM aspirant Omar Boga was cleared by IEBC to contest the seat, Joho noted that the region is an ODM stronghold, and as such he’ll work day and night to ensure the seat remains with the Orange party.

He dared the DP to man up and have a direct face off with him in Msambweni, arguing that Ruto is a coward who has been campaigning from his Nairobi residence.

"I won't allow anyone to even imagine that they can come and play with us in our region, be it William Ruto or his people. In fact, he is such a coward! He's so afraid to come here that he is just sending his people…  If you're man enough come here, don't play Msambweni politics in Nairobi at Karen there sending and posting pictures! Come here and let's meet man to man," Joho said.

Ruto's Msambweni Candidate

In the upcoming by-election, DP Ruto is supporting Independent Candidate Faisal Bader.

The DP has been hosting leaders and several delegations from Msambweni at his Karen home in a bid to chart the way forward regarding the campaigns.

Last week, reports indicated that three contestants had dropped their bid in support of Baider.
